    3. Mix in the egg, cornstarch, salt, and white pepper. Stir until the mixture becomes sticky and well combined.

    4. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.

    5. Scoop the shrimp mixture into your desired size and shape, place it into the hot oil in the pan, and press it down with a spoon to flatten to about 1 cm thick. (Don’t make it too thick, as the inside may not cook through.)

    6. Fry 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

    7. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil. Serve hot with chili sauce, ketchup, or mayonnaise.
